About Ohr Layelodim
Ohr Layelodim was founded on a simple but powerful idea: no widow or orphan in Israel should ever feel alone. Rooted in the timeless Jewish values of chesed, tzedakah, and areivut—mutual responsibility—we exist to bring light, dignity, and hope to families facing some of life’s greatest challenges.
Our Mission
Every day, widows and orphaned children across Israel struggle not only with emotional loss, but with the practical burdens of daily living. Ohr Layelodim provides essential support in the form of food assistance, financial aid, and emergency relief, ensuring that basic needs are met with sensitivity and respect.
Beyond material help, we are deeply committed to nurturing Jewish life and continuity. We assist families with Jewish holidays, Shabbat needs, and religious guidance, helping children grow with a sense of identity, stability, and belonging. Through warmth, encouragement, and hands-on support, we strive to replace hardship with reassurance and despair with hope.
Ohr Layelodim is more than a charity—it is a community. Together with our supporters and partners, we bring light where it is most needed, strengthening widows, uplifting orphans, and helping build a stronger, more compassionate Israel.
